The Fiat 500 continues to scoop top industry accolades, after
taking the award for Best City Car in the 2011 Fleet World
Honours, announced today in London.
The multi-award-winning 500, which is into its third year on
sale in the UK, already has an impressive list of trophies,
including Car of the Year 2008, along with several from the UK's
leading consumer and business titles.
The car's good looks, efficiency, excellent residual values and
low running costs were all praised by the award's judges. Evidence
of the Fiat 500's environmental credentials was highlighted last
year when the model's sub-100g/km CO2 TwinAir version
was made exempt from London's Congestion Charge.
Steve Moody, editor of Fleet World and chairman of the judging
panel, says: "The cheeky 500 proves time and again that it is a car
people love, and with its innovative new TwinAir engine it offers
thrills and efficiency in equal measure, taking the class leader
even further ahead of the rest."
"Another award from a top title is always welcome," says Elena
Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK. "The
Fiat 500 has continued to sell well to retail customers and has
caught the imagination of large and small fleets too, so we are
delighted to see further support from Fleet World in this
excellent category win."
Available with a choice of ultra-low emissions Euro 5 engines:
85bhp 0.9-litre TwinAir, 69 bhp 1.2-litre and 100bhp 1.4-litre
petrol, and 95 bhp 1.3-litre MultiJet turbodiesel, the Fiat 500 can
be ordered in three different trim levels - Pop, Sport and
Lounge.
With a starting price of just £9,665 OTR, the Fiat 500
represents outstanding value for money.
