Fiat 500 Wins Yet Another Award

The Fiat 500 wins yet another award in the "City car" category of the BusinessCar awards, taking this award for the third consecutive year running.

"No doubt the car's looks aid its success, with the bubble-shaped vehicle still turning heads three years after its launch. With Fiat introducing new TwinAir engines to its model range, the least polluting 500 iteration now only emits 92g/km CO2, making it a sensible choice for savvy fleet managers wanting to keep business costs down with a decent city run-around. The success of these engines, currently only available in the 500 in turbocharged 85hp form, has led the carmaker to plan a non-turbo 65hp version and a more powerful 105hp version."

"The 500 may well continue as the winner of this category as Fiat told BuisnessCar late last year that the smaller TwinAir engine allowed room for Hybrid components in the vehicle.  A spokesman said "The Hybrid version is already under development and will have further CO2 and MPG benefits. It's in the prototype stage and is a mild hybrid." BusinessCar
